IS OPERA IN THE GARDENS A COVID SAFE EVENT?
The Opera in the Gardens is a COVID safe event and will operate in line with Government advice.
DO PATRONS NEED TO BE VACCINATED?
Under the Queensland Government’s Public Health and Social Measures linked to vaccination status Direction, anyone entering the Opera in the Gardenss aged 16 years and over must be fully vaccinated or medically exempt. All patrons over the age of 16 years will be required to register through the Check In Qld app and to provide proof of vaccination (or medical exemption) at time of entry. Information on this page is subject to change and will be updated accordingly in line with government guidelines.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS WET WEATHER?
There is always a risk of unfavourable weather conditions. Opera in The Gardens is an open-air event. The venue is completely uncovered. Opera in the Gardens committee is committed to proceeding with the performance even in doubtful weather conditions.
The performance will proceed if there are light, intermittent showers. We therefore recommend that guests bring warm and rainproof clothing. Please note that although umbrellas can be brought to the site, out of consideration for other members of the audience, they cannot be used during the performance.
The performance will only be cancelled if the weather poses a threat to the safety of performers or the audience. Cancellation will occur in the event of heavy rain and strong winds as the comfort and safety of the audience and performers are paramount.
The event may be cancelled at 10.00am if the Bureau of Meteorology advises that extreme conditions will prevail. The performance may also be cancelled even after the show has commenced.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
There is no dress code for Opera in The Gardens. As this is an outdoor event and you will be sitting on the grass it most important that you you should dress comfortably and for all weather conditions.
IS THERE ANY SEATING?
There will be NO seating provided at Opera in The Gardens.
Please bring your own low backed chair.
CAN I BYO ALCOHOL?
Yes however alcohol must be consumed from plastic glasses.
REFUNDS AND REPLACEMENT TICKETS
Replacement tickets may be issued at no extra charge.
Refund of ticket due to change in personal circumstances not less than 72 hours prior to the event will be considered less any administration charges.
Non attendance at the event will not entitle a ticket holder to a refund.
