Known to millions around the world as the "Angel of Australia", we are delighted to announce that next year's headline act for Opera in the Gardens 2024 will be international Soprano sensation "Mirusia."
Named Australia's #1 Classical/Crossover artist for 2022, "Mirusia" is known to millions worldwide as the 'Angel of Australia' - the name the famous Dutch violinist André Rieu gave to her. Now, in 2024, the international Soprano, affectionately dubbed "Australia's Songbird", will give a powerhouse performance of Opera, Operetta and Broadway favourites featuring songs and arias from her new album, "Classique" which will be released in February 2024.
The concert also features songs from Magic Flute, Tales of Hoffman, Pearl Fishers, La Traviata, Carmen, The Merry Widow, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, The Sound of Music and Pirates of Penzance and much more...
Mirusia will be joined on stage by powerhouse performer Queensland Baritone Lionel Theunissen, Mezzo-Soprano Diva Kathryn Bradbury and out the cast will be guest performer and former Ten Tenor Roger Davy. The performance will be accompanied by live string players, Violin, and Cello, with Pianist extraordinaire Matt Rolf, MD, as our official accompanist. Back by popular demand, the show will again feature Rhonda Davidson-Irwin & Viva La Musica Voices and Children's Choir.
